Fra i vari oggetti orientaleggianti tempo fa realizzai questo tanto shirasaya.
La lama è una Brusletto ad alto tenore di carbonio, riprofilata a mola e con i fianchi lasciati in "brute de forge" . L' habaki è in rame forgiato a freddo, senza saldature, il corpo principale in abete, il mekugi in bambù e le battute tra impugnatura e fodero in mogano.

Between the various objects "East-inspired", some time ago I made this shirasaya.
The blade is a high carbon steel one from Brusletto, reprofiled with a grinder and left "brute de forge" ("as forged" in french). The habaki is in cold-worked copper, thus made without soldering, the main handle body in fir, the mekugi is made of bamboo and the decorations of sheat and handle are made of mahogany.
